Another small rule change for you, nothing too taxing but worth a read over on the Class Rules page.
Since the last set of rules were written and posted back in February 2014 there have been several questions and queries that have been asked and answered by the rules committee who have now got to a point where these items have been incorporated into an updated set of class rules.
The restricted rules remain essentially unchanged and there are full details on the Class Rules page.
There has been a small addition to the Hints and Tips page of the website. It concerns the rear end fitting for the compression strut. It is listed under “rigging mods” and is entitled “Compression Strut Mod 2 – Repair”
Recently there has been a little confusion over which H&T page is the right one to use, the one on this website or the one on the DF65UKNCA website.
In the rules it is this website that is referred to as the one to use as “Gospel” however the DF65UKNCA website had a more up to date and more ordered H&T page. The H&T page on this website has now been changed to mirror the more up to date (and legal!) H&T page on the DF65UKNCA website.
During the next week there will be another small revision of the rules to reflect this and a few other items that have been brought to our attention. This will be posted up online as soon as it is available.
Sorry for any confusion, The DF65 Web Team.
The DF65 has now been around for a year and in that time it has proved to be a useful entry into the sport of radio sailing for many and a good club boat for many others.
Here in the UK we now have a dedicated NCA for the DF65 which runs alongside the RG65 NCA. It also has it’s own dedicated NCA website www.df65racing.co.uk on which there are details of how to register your boat, upcoming events, results and the ever popular Hints & Tips pages along with details of UK clubs that sail the DF65.
With that in mind this website will, over the coming months, be re engineered to become an International hub for DF65 owners worldwide. It will direct owners to country specific websites and NCA’s as required and will keep the DF65 community up to date with worldwide events.
Please find the Notice of Race for the upcoming DF / RG event at the Keighley Club up in Yorkshire. If it’s windy it will be a good test of skipper and equipment as the club is very exposed.
If you haven’t sailed at the club before it is well worth the trip so get your entry in!
It is with great pleasure that I can announce that the DF65 class now has over 100 sail numbers registered here in the UK. Although as a percentage of boats sold in the UK it is around 10 – 15% it still shows that there are over 100 people who have registered for a sail number and are showing an interest in racing this exciting new class.
If you haven’t yet registered your boat and fancy doing so then please contact the DF / RG registrar firstname.lastname@example.org who will process your request quickly and efficiently.
It doesn’t cost a penny to do so either.
The next event on the DF racing calendar is listed below and if you haven’t already been racing yet this would be a great place to start.
